Historic Win for Reiner
Rob Reiner was awarded the Emmy for outstanding guest actor in a comedy for his role in 'The Bear,' announced Sunday at the ceremony formerly known as the Creative Arts Emmys. The win comes nine months after his death, making him the first posthumous acting winner since Raul Julia in 1995. His victory broke the record previously held by his father, Carl Reiner, who won the same category in 1995 for 'Mad About You.'[S1]
Reiner received a prolonged standing ovation, with his friend and co-star Jamie Lee Curtis among those honoring him. He and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were killed in December. Their son, Nick Reiner, has entered a not guilty plea to charges of fatally stabbing them. Reiner's victory comes 48 years after his second Emmy for 'All in the Family' in 1978, marking the longest span between acting wins in Emmy history.[S1]

Apple TV's horror comedy 'Widow's Bay' won eight Emmys for its debut season, including Betty Gilpin for outstanding guest actress in a comedy.
