Sunday quotes for the parallel and official dollar
The blue dollar was quoted at 1,545 pesos for buyers and 1,565 pesos for sellers on Sunday, November 1, 2026, Clarín reported. The same day, Banco Nación set the official rate at 1,510 pesos for purchase and 1,560 pesos for sale. The two markets therefore traded within a narrow band of each other over the weekend, with the parallel rate only slightly above the bank rate.[S1]
Clarín described the blue dollar as the currency that circulates in the black market and typically carries a higher value than the official one. It is not available through banks or authorized exchange houses. The outlet also noted that the parallel quote closes together with the official one at 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, leaving weekend prices without a formal session.[S1]

The contado con liquidación, known as CCL, is the exchange rate produced when investors buy Argentine securities locally and sell them abroad to move foreign currency out of the country. The MEP dollar, by contrast, comes from buying and selling shares or bonds, with the resulting funds deposited inside Argentina. TN also explained that the official rate is managed by the central bank and has retail and wholesale versions.[S2]
October returns and the card dollar
Inflation-linked bonds were the best investment in October, according to an analysis by GMA Capital with data through October 29 cited by TN. The consultancy measured returns in real terms, after subtracting inflation, and in dollars against the CCL. October brought inflation discounted in the bonds of around 1.7%, while the CCL advanced 2.1%, making it hard for investments to beat either prices or the exchange rate.[S2]
TN explained that the card dollar equals the official rate plus a 30% withholding as an advance on income tax. Until December 22, 2024, that surcharge reached 60%. This rate applies to purchases of goods or services abroad with credit or debit cards, including streaming services such as Netflix and Spotify.[S2]
