Brewers Make History with 98th Win
The Milwaukee Brewers achieved a franchise-record 98th victory on Sunday night, defeating the Baltimore Orioles 3-0 to complete a three-game sweep at Camden Yards. Milwaukee improved to 98-58, surpassing the 97 wins it recorded last season, and owns the best record in the majors. The Brewers have already clinched their fourth consecutive NL Central title.[S1]
William Contreras provided the offensive spark, hitting a 403-foot home run off Orioles starter Brandon Young in the fourth inning for his 18th of the season. Cooper Pratt contributed two RBIs, including a two-out single in the second that scored Jake Bauers, and added another RBI single in the seventh against reliever Félix Bautista, who was making his return from shoulder surgery after last pitching in the majors on July 20, 2025.[S1]
Misiorowski Shines, Orioles Falter
Milwaukee starter Jacob Misiorowski delivered a strong abbreviated outing, allowing just one hit and striking out four over three innings. The right-hander, who leads the majors with a 1.86 ERA and 247 strikeouts, moved into second place on the Brewers' single-season strikeout list, trailing only Ben Sheets' 264 in 2004. DL Hall earned the win in relief, and Trevor Megill recorded his 29th save.[S1]
Baltimore managed only four hits and was shut out for the second consecutive game. The Orioles fell five games behind the Chicago White Sox for the AL's third wild card with six games remaining. Starter Brandon Young allowed two runs and struck out a career-high nine in six innings but took the loss. Jackson Chourio stole two bases for Milwaukee, giving him 21 this season and joining Seattle's Julio Rodríguez and Kansas City's Bobby Witt Jr. as the only players with 20 homers and 20 steals in each of their first three seasons.[S1]

Milwaukee has Monday off before opening its final road series Tuesday in Philadelphia, with right-hander Dustin May (7-9, 4.61 ERA) scheduled to start. Baltimore continues its last homestand on Monday, sending right-hander Shane Baz (6-5, 4.11 ERA) to the mound against Toronto.[S1]
