Bern follows Brussels on two Russian businessmen

Swiss authorities have removed Russian businessmen Alisher Usmanov and Mikhail Fridman from the country's sanctions list, according to information posted on the website of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs. The step mirrors a decision already taken at the European Union level, and the updated roster published by the Swiss body reflects that alignment.[S1][S2][S3]

The same revised list shows that restrictive measures no longer apply to Andrey Falaleyev, who formerly headed Crimean Federal University. Redbird Corporate Services Ltd. has also been taken off the register of sanctioned entities.[S1]

Deceased individuals and an entity removed

Three further individuals were dropped from the list because they have died: Yury Shvytkin, a former member of the State Duma; the designer Alexander Leonov; and Alireza Tangsiri, an Iranian military official. Their removal is recorded alongside the other changes in the updated Swiss roster.[S1]
