Rockstar Unveils GTA VI Soundtrack
Rockstar has now confirmed the soundtrack that will accompany Grand Theft Auto VI, a few days after dropping a hint about music. Titled Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, the release is set to hold 34 songs that the company calls all-new, original material. Six of those tracks arrive today, and taken together they point to a broad stylistic spread, drawing on names ranging from Keith Richards to Travis Scott.[S1]
The confirmed singles include Yung Lean's That's It featuring Future and Metro Boomin; Travis Scott's RHYNO, produced by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo; Sexy Magic by CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, PinkPantheress, Fred again.. and Etienne de Crécy; Morgan Wallen's Last Thing You Need; Rauw Alejandro's Macacoa 2000; and Keith Richards' Bright Lights, Big City.[S1]
Release Plans and Industry Impact
The album will be available on all major streaming services, and Rockstar says it will also be released on CD and vinyl. It is set to launch on November 19, the same day as the game. The soundtrack announcement is the latest in a series of Rockstar reveals as GTA VI approaches its long-awaited and often-delayed launch.[S1]
The studio had already shown off an extended gameplay preview the previous month, first airing it through Netflix and then putting it up on YouTube. Excitement for the title runs so high that nearly every big publisher has shifted its own release plans to avoid clashing with it, with Nintendo standing out as the one that did not.[S1]
