On Thursday, South African authorities verified that a ninth female victim had been located in Ekurhuleni, situated to the east of Johannesburg. According to provincial police commissioner Fred Kekana, a person passing by came across the remains close to a building site and notified law enforcement. The woman, whose identity remains unknown, was estimated to be roughly 30 years old and showed a puncture wound on her side along with what looked like a slashed throat. Forensic specialists had not yet established the formal reason for her death. The earliest body was located on 17 July, nude and bound with cable ties. A man suspected to be the victim's romantic partner was taken into custody and is still detained. One of the deceased was identified as Elizabeth “Tsontso” Moselakgomo, a 38-year-old runner who disappeared last week after her 8-year-old daughter told relatives she hadn't come back from her routine afternoon run.
