Zeta-Jones reads the memoir as Douglas stands by his candor

Michael Douglas has said that his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, is in the middle of reading his new memoir, 'One Helluva Ride.' He told Page Six that she had just returned from working on the third season of 'Wednesday,' the Netflix series in which she plays Morticia Addams alongside Jenna Ortega, Emma Myers and Hunter Doohan. Douglas joked that she was a wee little girl in that part, a reference to his decision to revisit his past romances and secret affairs in the book.[S1][S2][S3]

Douglas mentioned that he had previously discussed the book with her, and he maintained that he feels no regret about how open he was. He expressed satisfaction at having shared it publicly. The Oscar winner, married to Zeta-Jones since November 2000 and describing her as his soulmate, noted that they are now in their 26th year of marriage, saying he greatly enjoys being with her and praising her as both gifted and amusing.[S1][S2][S3]

Addiction, family and a 'little beware tale'

In the memoir, Douglas also addressed his own earlier battles with cocaine and alcohol, which sent him to rehab, along with the addiction issues faced by his son Cameron, who received a seven-year prison term. The 'Fatal Attraction' actor became a father to Cameron, now 47, with his first wife, Diandra Luker. With Zeta-Jones, he also has sons Dylan, 26, and daughter Carys, 23.[S1]

Douglas told Page Six that cocaine was widespread in Hollywood throughout the 1970s and 1980s. He noted that he was not obligated to share that part of his story but chose to do so, describing it as a cautionary lesson from his own life. Looking back with the benefit of age, he remarked that cocaine was an absurd drug that claimed many people, including his son and numerous others. 'One Helluva Ride' is available now.[S1]
