Viale open to another child at 44
Juana Viale, 44, said she would consider having another child during a conversation with Mario Pergolini. The Argentine host, who gave birth to four children, one of whom died in 2011, answered briefly and directly when asked whether she would have another: she said yes, noting she knows the experience because she has been through it. She did not confirm a pregnancy or an immediate plan to expand her family, but left the possibility open.[S1]
Viale recalled that she had her children between her 20s and 30s and described that period as very harmonious and lovely, a time when she learned to grow empathetically. She noted that her family situation is now different: her youngest child is 14 and has greater autonomy. She said she is no longer actively raising him, though she stressed that for a mother a child is always small and that worry persists even after children leave home.[S1]
Pregnancy, postpartum and birth-rate debate
When Pergolini asked about her feelings during pregnancy, Viale said she loves it and feels like Wonder Woman. She added that she feels revitalized and that she also enjoys postpartum and being with the baby. She said she loves the smell of a baby. On the falling birth rate, she argued that having a child is also more difficult today economically. Pergolini mentioned statistics about more women having children after 40, and Viale joked that she is still current for having children.[S1]
Viale also distanced herself from baby showers and sex-reveal parties, saying people should not be ridiculous and calling those celebrations contemporary. She said she prefers to learn the sex of her children at birth. In another part of the conversation, Pergolini asked about her grandmother's health. Viale said her grandmother is doing well, advancing and improving at her own pace, though she is an older woman. She described her as attentive and active, watching television, her programs and the news, including the interview they were recording.[S1]
