Delivering Meals and More

Jessica Andrade, a former UFC strawweight champion, has been sidelined with a shoulder injury since her August 2025 loss to Loopy Godinez. To supplement her income, the 34-year-old Brazilian has taken up work as a delivery driver, picking up orders through an app and delivering meals. 'I do whatever it takes,' she said on the Brazilian podcast Direto de Vegas. 'I'm not afraid of hard work.' Additionally, she has been helping a friend renovate her house, removing rocks and installing artificial turf to earn extra cash.[S1][S2][S3][S4][S5][S6]

Recurring Financial Struggles

Andrade has faced financial difficulties before. In 2018, she sold her UFC gear to make ends meet. In 2023, she fought five times to cover divorce costs. She also accused former coach Gilliard Parana of withholding money, though Parana denied the allegations. Andrade has since decided not to pursue the lawsuit. She also noted that past U.S. tax issues from 2023 fights are being resolved.[S1][S3][S5]

UFC Fighter Pay Debate

Andrade's situation highlights ongoing concerns about UFC fighter pay. The promotion gives about 20% of revenue to fighters, while boxers receive around 60%. Recently, boxer Conor Benn signed a reported £11 million one-fight deal with Zuffa Boxing, owned by UFC president Dana White, drawing further criticism. White has responded by noting that fighter pay has risen since 2001.[S1]
