Reports began spreading on social media over the weekend. Reyes initially voiced concern about the versions in circulation, then confirmed the death after speaking with relatives. As of the reporting, the causes had not been disclosed, and the authorities had not publicly confirmed the young man's identity within the investigation.[S1]
A farewell and a warning about online abuse
On Instagram, the representative posted a farewell recalling projects the two still had pending and urging reflection on how negative comments land on the internet. Reyes addressed the criticism the creator had absorbed over the years, arguing that people online often feel entitled to judge others they do not know, and said he hoped the case would serve as a precedent before others decide to criticize.[S1]
He closed the message with affection, telling El Komanche to fly high and thanking him for carrying El Salvador with him, describing him as a devoted son, a good friend and a good person.[S1]
From Twitch to the Squid Craft Games
Gómez was born on September 27, 1996, in San Sebastián, San Vicente, El Salvador. He started broadcasting on Twitch in 2015 and gradually built a community around live shows that mixed video games, conversation and entertainment. His reach expanded notably between 2020 and 2022, when he streamed titles including Grand Theft Auto, Minecraft and Fortnite alongside talk content with his audience.[S1]
He also collaborated with Fernanfloo, another well-known Salvadoran creator, and with Ibai Llanos, which widened his profile across the Spanish-speaking streaming world. Among his most significant projects were the Squid Craft Games, a Minecraft competition inspired by the series Squid Game, which he helped create and organize with AuronPlay and El Rubius; the event drew a large roster of Spanish-language streamers and made a strong impression on Twitch.[S1][S3]
This year he was set to take part in La Velada del Año 6, the boxing event organized by Ibai. His fight was canceled after he publicly revealed his participation ahead of time, in breach of the confidentiality agreement, according to statements from the streamer himself and the organizers.[S1][S4][S7][S8]
Reaction across the streaming community
News of the death prompted a wave of reactions from followers and content creators, who expressed grief at the loss and looked back on his career in streaming. Outlets across Spain and Latin America reported the death, describing him as one of the most influential Spanish-language streamers and highlighting both his role in the Squid Craft Games and his near appearance at La Velada.[S1][S2][S3][S4][S5][S6][S7][S8]
