Interceptions on Formentera and Mallorca
On Monday afternoon at 7:30 PM, authorities intercepted 14 people of North African origin at kilometer 15 of the PM-820 road on the island of Formentera. The operation involved the Guardia Civil from the Formentera post and the Citizen Security Unit of the Command (USECIC).[S1]
Later, at around 10:19 PM, twelve individuals also of North African origin were intercepted in Colonia de Sant Jordi on the island of Mallorca. The Guardia Civil from the Santanyí post and the Citizen Security Unit of the Command (USECIC) participated in this intervention.[S1]
Rescue Near Cabrera
Early this morning at 3:24 AM, a total of 24 migrants of sub-Saharan origin were rescued one mile south of the island of Cabrera. The Provincial Maritime Service of the Guardia Civil, Maritime Rescue, and the Fiscal and Borders Section of the Guardia Civil from the Port of Palma took part in the rescue efforts.[S1]
