Three Thrillers Lead the Weekend
Decider selected three titles from a crowded weekend release schedule, all offering suspense-driven viewing. Netflix's original film UNABOMBER alternates between Ted Kaczynski's Harvard years and the 1995 manhunt that ended in his capture. On Hulu, American Horror Story: 13 brings back many of Ryan Murphy's regular performers for a season filled with familiar characters. HBO Max adds Backrooms, a popular thriller starring Chiwetel Ejiofor as a furniture store owner who becomes trapped in an endless, dreamlike liminal space beneath his shop.[S1]
UNABOMBER on Netflix
Jacob Tremblay plays a young Ted Kaczynski, the domestic terrorist responsible for three deaths, in Netflix's UNABOMBER. The film introduces Kaczynski as a child prodigy entering Harvard, where Professor Henry Murray, played by Russell Crowe, subjects him to controversial psychological experiments. The narrative moves between those formative years and the 1995 manhunt that led to Kaczynski's capture. Shailene Woodley and Annabelle Wallis also star. The film is available now.[S1]
American Horror Story: 13 on Hulu
A fresh installment of American Horror Story has brought back several of Ryan Murphy's most frequently used actors. Titled 13, the season's opening three episodes can be watched now on Hulu. This marks the thirteenth season overall, and it is set to run for thirteen episodes in total. Among those appearing are Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, and Jon Waters, alongside numerous other performers.[S1]
Backrooms on HBO Max
Kane Parsons directed Backrooms, one of the year's biggest hits, which arrives on HBO Max this weekend. The film follows a furniture store owner lured into a mysterious labyrinth of rooms hidden in his store's basement. Chiwetel Ejiofor, Renate Reinsve and Lukita Maxwell star.[S1]
