Death confirmed by family

Comedian and actor Reggie McFadden, whose most memorable work came during his time on In Living Color, has passed away at the age of 57. His sister Bernice McFadden told The Hollywood Reporter that the U.S. State Department informed the family he had died in Tanzania, the country where he had resided for a number of years. No cause of death has been disclosed.[S1]

Tributes began to appear on social media. The comic Tony Luewellyn wrote on Facebook that another fallen veteran comedy brother had been lost, calling for McFadden to rest in peace.[S1]

A career in comedy and television

A native of Brooklyn, McFadden portrayed a range of characters on In Living Color across 1993 and 1994. Beyond that show, he appeared on television in Martin, Hangin' With Mr. Cooper, Coach, Moesha, Getting Personal and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Among his movie work were parts in Jacob's Ladder and Little Nicky.[S1]

McFadden also headlined a Comedy Central stand-up special and performed regularly in Las Vegas. According to his Facebook page, he ran both a gold mining operation and an entertainment production business in Tanzania.[S1]
