Suspensions Handed Down
The NFL has suspended referee Adrian Hill for one game and line judge Jeff Seeman for two games, citing unprofessional conduct toward players during Sunday's games. The punishments were issued by Ramon George, the league's vice president of officiating. The discipline follows two separate incidents that drew attention over the weekend.[S1][S2][S3][S4][S5][S6][S7][S8]
Hill's Confrontation with Eric Wilson
In one incident, Hill was knocked over by Vikings linebacker Eric Wilson while Wilson was being blocked by Dolphins running back Ollie Gordon through the whistle. After getting up, Hill got in Wilson's face and yelled at him to return to his team's huddle. No penalty was called on the play.[S1]
Seeman's Profanity Toward Trey McBride
In the other incident, cameras captured Seeman saying a profanity twice to Cardinals tight end Trey McBride after McBride complained about a missing pass interference flag during Arizona's loss to the Giants. The NFL Players Association responded to Seeman's language in a statement to PFT on Sunday, calling it unacceptable.[S1]
