Departure and UN Address
President Javier Milei will leave Buenos Aires on Monday night bound for the United States to take part in the 81st General Assembly of the United Nations in New York. His address to the General Assembly is scheduled for Wednesday at noon, before representatives of numerous countries gathered for the annual meeting that covers the international agenda from peace and security to sustainable development and human rights. The president's last speech before the United Nations took place in September 2025, when he argued that contemporary states had entered a dynamic that is very difficult to reverse, in which the incentives of both the population and politicians favor distributing today's wealth over generating tomorrow's. He also remarked that progress is never linear and can at times feel slow or temporarily halted. On that occasion he addressed the Falklands question, noting that colonial situations of that kind remain unresolved eight decades after the organization's creation, and he invited the United Kingdom to resume conversations on the matter.[S1]

After arriving at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Tuesday morning, Milei is scheduled to speak at the Yeshiva Darchei Torah educational institution and to receive the Ohev Yisrael award, a distinction the international Jewish community grants to figures recognized for their support of the State of Israel. Later that day he will meet with Roberto Salinas, director of Atlas Network for Latin America and a reference for free-market ideas in the region, and then with the American economist Xavier Sala i Martín, a Columbia University professor and one of the best-known voices of liberal thought.[S1][S2]
On Wednesday, alongside his UN intervention, the president will speak at the conference Western Values, Economic Freedom & Strategic Security, organized by the Federalismo y Libertad Foundation with the institutional backing of the International Republican Institute. At 18:00 he will meet with major business figures who are partners of Americas Society/Council of the Americas, including Susan Segal and a table of between 12 and 15 executives. On Thursday at 13:00, Milei will deliver a presentation at The Economic Club of New York, described as one of the most influential economic forums in the United States. He will depart that night for Buenos Aires and is due to arrive at the Aeroparque military air station on Friday at 8:30. According to the reported schedule, his international travel will not end there: between September 30 and October 2 he will go abroad again for Argentina Week, a trip that will include a stop in France and the participation of governors.[S1][S2]
