Three Pillars of the Initiative

The Argentine president, Javier Milei, has submitted a bill to Congress called the National Sovereignty Defense Law, which is intended to replace the regime currently in force for penalizing unauthorized exploitation of resources in the Falkland Islands and to widen the state's available instruments for protecting sovereignty. The Office of the President announced the move in a statement.[S1]

The Office of the President said the initiative is built around three axes: sanctioning those who exploit natural resources illegitimately, generating incentives for those activities to stop, and providing the state with tools to respond to external threats. The announcement was made in a communiqué.[S1]
