McGregor is best known for her role as Mirren Sinclair Sheffield in Amazon's We Were Liars. Her previous credits include Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi and Freevee's High School. She is set to star in the Amazon series Life Is Strange.[S1]
Sakraya has built a substantial list of television and film credits in his native Germany and in the United States. His work includes Rhinegold, Tribes of Europa and Warrior Nun. More recently, he appeared in Those About to Die and is set to appear in Season 3 of One Piece.[S1]
The Empyrean Series and Production Team
The story unfolds within the brutal world of Basgiath War College, where the only rule is to graduate or die. Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail had expected a quiet life, but her mother, a military general, orders her to join hundreds of candidates competing to become dragon riders, the elite of Navarre.[S1]
The Empyrean saga from Yarros launched with Fourth Wing, which arrived in May 2023 and landed on the New York Times bestseller list. Two more installments followed: Iron Flame in November 2023 and Onyx Storm in January 2025. Yarros also put out Threshing Day in September, a novella gathering 13 tales that take place within The Empyrean world. No titles or dates have been revealed yet for the fourth and fifth novels.[S1]
Serving as showrunner and executive producer on Fourth Wing is Meredith Averill, whose credits include Anne With an E. Additional executive producers come from Kilter Films, with Lisa Joy handling pilot directing duties plus Jonathan Nolan and Athena Wickham; Outlier Society, represented by Michael B. Jordan and Elizabeth Raposo; and Premeditated Productions, through Liz Pelletier and Sherryl Clark.[S1]
