Yacht Rock Night Results

Dancing With the Stars season 35 continued Tuesday with Yacht Rock Night, featuring performances set to smooth grooves and soft-rock classics. According to ABC, the episode highlighted songs such as Daryl Hall & John Oates's I Can't Go for That (No Can Do), Grover Washington Jr.'s Just the Two of Us, and Rupert Holmes's Escape (The Piña Colada Song). The night ended with a shocking elimination that left the ballroom stunned.[S1]

Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov kicked off the episode with a foxtrot set to Toto's Hold the Line, and the judges handed them the season's first three eights, giving them 24 out of 30 — the best mark yet this year. Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson later posted the same total, putting the two pairs level at the top. Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas collected their first eight of the season and sat second with 22/30 after a quickstep to Turn Your Love Around.[S1]

At the end of the night, Taylor Hanson and Britt Stewart were eliminated after receiving an 18/30. Both expressed immense gratitude for their time together on the show. Just before the season 35 premiere, Britt told The Hollywood Reporter she was excited to be partnered with the Grammy nominee, noting that he had promised to do whatever it took to succeed, even joking about sleeping at the dance studio to rehearse. She said his commitment showed he was in it to win it.[S1]

Each episode sends home whichever couple has the smallest combined tally from the judges' scores and the audience vote. Fans may submit as many as 10 votes per couple through each available method, using ABC's website or texting. Voting happens live while the East Coast broadcast airs and closes soon after the last dance, so those on the West Coast have to cast ballots between 5 p.m. and about 6:45 p.m. PT. Still in the running for the season 35 mirrorball are Tatyana Ali, Tyler Cameron, Jenna Dewan, Ezra Frech, Amber Glenn, Maura Higgins, Ciara Miller, Jackson Olson, Guillermo Rodriguez, Harry Shum Jr., Julia Stiles, and Connor Wood.[S1]
