Earlier in the night, three couples—Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach, Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson, and Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy—each received three eight paddles from the judges, a 24/30 that stood as the early high score and marked season-best totals for Ezra and Jenna respectively.[S1]
At the other end of the leaderboard, Guillermo Rodriguez and Witney Carson fell to the bottom with a 13/30 for their samba to Obsessed. Ciara Miller and Brandon Armstrong performed a jazz to Emotions and scored 21/30, a total matched by Tyler Cameron and Sharna Burgess, Jackson Olson and Emma Slater, and Julia Stiles and Ezra Sosa.
