Brothers Accept Memorial Decision
Brian Hickerson and his brother Zach, both left off the guest list for Hayden Panettiere's memorial, are reportedly not challenging the organizers' choice to keep them away, according to TMZ on Friday. People close to the pair told the outlet that the brothers understand how delicate the occasion is and accept being left out. Even without an invitation, Brian, 37, and Zach, 38, are said to want the service to stand as a warm tribute to Panettiere, her life and the mark she left.[S1]
Grief and Denials Continue
The same sources described the brothers as still unable to come to terms with her death, with Brian finding daily life without her especially hard. He has reportedly shed about 40 pounds since she died and has been unable to recover any sense of routine. There are still moments, the sources added, when he expects to hear from her and half believes the whole situation will prove to be a terrible dream. Both brothers have kept denying that they played any part in her death.[S1]
Brian was placed in handcuffs by police on Sept. 12 after an alleged altercation at a bar in Greenville, South Carolina, where he was heard shouting that the local police department had leaked information when his girlfriend died. On Wednesday, close to the one-month mark since Panettiere's death, a photographer at a Greenville gas station asked how he was holding up, and he answered by asking how the photographer thought he was doing.[S1]
