Reality TV stint and nickname

Amber Siyavus, a former contestant on the CBS reality series Big Brother, died on Friday at the age of 46. The Season 8 cast member's cause and manner of death have not been disclosed, according to a Monday report by TMZ. Siyavus appeared on the show in 2007, where she became known as 'Whamber' because of her frequent tearful moments inside the house.[S1][S2][S3][S4][S5][S6][S7][S8]

While competing on Big Brother, Siyavus grew close to two of her fellow cast members, Jameka Cameron and Dustin Erikstrup. Her run on the CBS series ended with a seventh-place finish. No other contestant that season reached the jury stage without capturing either Head of Household or the Power of Veto. The season was won by Dick Donato, with his daughter Daniele Donato taking second place.[S1]

Life after the show and personal loss

According to her Facebook page, the Las Vegas local took a job as a cocktail waitress at the MGM Grand in that city the year after appearing on the reality show. She drew attention again in 2018 when her 18-year-old daughter, Lexi Tomcavage, died in what appeared to be a suicide. Whether Siyavus leaves behind any other children or a partner has not been made public. On the program, she frequently discussed Tomcavage and her life as a single mother.[S1]
