Bezzecchi wins as Martin takes championship lead

Marco Bezzecchi won the MotoGP Indonesian Grand Prix, with his teammate Jorge Martin finishing third to reclaim the championship lead from Marc Marquez. The race at the Mandalika Circuit saw Bezzecchi make the race-winning move on Raul Fernandez on Lap 19, while Martin comfortably held third place. All four Aprilia bikes finished in the top four, a dominant team performance.[S1][S2]

In the riders' standings, Martin now leads Marquez by two points, with Bezzecchi a further 46 points back. The result marks a significant shift in the title battle after Marquez had taken the lead earlier in the weekend.[S1]

Marquez limited to sixth after Sprint win

After winning the Sprint a day earlier, Marc Marquez faced a challenging race, describing it as damage limitation. He was overtaken by Pedro Acosta and Ai Ogura, eventually crossing the line in sixth. Earlier, Marquez had moved up to third after the opening corners, but lost positions as the race progressed.[S1]

The race began without incidents into Turn 1, unlike the Sprint start. Raul Fernandez led the early laps, while Fermin Aldeguer crashed out. Martin found himself behind Marquez on Lap 3 and overtook his championship rival on the same lap.[S1]

Moto2 and Moto3: Guevara and Quiles triumph

In Moto2, Izan Guevara claimed all 25 points after Alex Escrig's Forward bike suffered a problem with two laps to go. Manuel Gonzalez finished second, meaning only 5.5 points now separate him from the Pramac rider in the standings.[S1]

Maximo Quiles won the Moto3 race at the Mandalika Circuit ahead of David Almansa and Brian Uriarte, securing the 2026 Moto3 World Championship title in the process.[S1]
