Perry Edges Shibata in Tailgate Brawl Opener
The Tailgate Brawl pre-show began with Excalibur welcoming viewers before Jungle Man Jack Perry faced Katsuyori Shibata. The two exchanged holds and strikes early, with Shibata landing a side headlock, a takeover, and a headscissors before Perry escaped with a headstand. Shibata kept pressing, taking Perry down with a chop after a knucklelock and arm drag exchange. Perry fired back with a right hand, but Shibata cut him off with an overhead chop from the top rope as the show went to a commercial break.[S1]
After the break, Shibata continued his assault with chops in the corner, and Perry absorbed more punishment before roaring back with an uppercut and elbows. Perry sent Shibata to the apron with a running knee, and the two battled back and forth on the apron. Shibata powered up, dropped Perry with a chop, and followed with a half-halch suplex on the apron, but Perry reversed a facelock into a straight suplex on the floor. Perry posed for the crowd, but Shibata cut him off, and a sunset flip powerbomb was reversed into a Frankensteiner.[S1]
Perry countered the Penalty Kick into the Snare Trap in the middle of the ring, but Shibata escaped and landed chest kicks. Perry cut him off with a dropkick, but a Tiger Driver attempt failed. Shibata trapped Perry in the corner with repeated chops, a snapmare, and a sleeper hold, but Perry rolled through into a bridging pin to secure the victory. Jungle Man Jack Perry won by pinfall with a bridging pin.[S1]
Samoa Joe Headbutts Perry After Handshake Standoff
Following his win, Perry called out Samoa Joe and knelt in the middle of the ring while the crowd chanted that Joe would kill him. The rest of the Opps appeared on the stage, but Perry said he did not want them and asked where Joe was. Samoa Joe then arrived, entered the ring, and stared Perry down. Perry extended his hand, but Joe turned and left the ring. Perry pulled him around and shoved him, demanding a handshake, which drew chants that Perry had messed up. Joe extended his hand and then clobbered Perry with a headbutt that laid him out, sending the show to a break.[S1]
Sisters of Sin Defeat Shirakawa and Aminata
After the break, Sisters of Sin (Julia Hart and Skye Blue) faced Mina Shirakawa and Queen Aminata. Shirakawa and Hart started with a standing STO from Hart, but Shirakawa countered a follow-up into a pin and kicked Hart's leg out. Tags were made, and a shoving match broke out, leading to Aminata and Blue trading elbows. Blue landed a kick, but a Code Blue attempt was countered, and Aminata caught a kick and dropped Blue with a shoulder block. Aminata used butt bumps, tagged Shirakawa, who hit a slingshot tornillo for a two-count. Hart ran interference from the floor, and the Sisters took control as the show went to another break.[S1]
Back from commercial, Shirakawa hit a big tijeras on Blue, then went up top and took out Hart with a missile dropkick for a nearfall. Tags were made, and Shirakawa held Blue for a double stomp, but Hart broke it up and pulled Shirakawa in for clubbing blows. The Sisters hit a Superkick Party and applied stereo octopus holds, but the babyfaces fought out. Aminata got Blue in the ropes, but Hart made the save. The match broke down, and Aminata hooked Blue for a snap swinging neckbreaker, leaving both women down. Shirakawa tagged in and applied an inverted facelock, but Blue reversed into a victory roll pin for two. Shirakawa laid Blue out with a kick, Hart pulled Aminata off the cover, and Blue rolled Shirakawa up for a nearfall. After an arm wringer and a float over, Sisters of Sin won by pinfall with Code Blue from Skye Blue on Mina Shirakawa.[S1]

Mick Foley interviewed Coach Juice about his strategy for the Bang Bang Gang in the upcoming atomicos match. Coach Juice spouted a bunch of sports jargon before switching to something else, but the coverage cut off there.[S1]
